The IX Azerbaijan Championship in Alpagut Turan Martial Arts Successfully Concluded! 🏆

On December 21-22, 2024, the IX Azerbaijan Championship in Alpagut Turan Martial Arts was held at the Shagan Olympic Sports Complex with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan National Sports Types Association.

The event brought together 435 athletes from 20 teams representing various regions of the country. The participants showcased their skills in the Ayça, Batur, Caymaz, Qurşaq, and Kaçut systems of Alpagut Martial Arts.  The opening ceremony was attended by Fuad Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation; Mehman Safarov, First Vice-President; Aydın Mammadov, Sector Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Kazım Qurbanov, President of the Azerbaijan National Sports Types Association; and Davud Davudov, Director of the Azerbaijan Finance-Economic College.

In his opening speech, Fuad Guliyev emphasized that the projects implemented within the framework of the youth and sports policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, significantly contribute to the development of sports and the preservation of national values. Other officials also discussed the importance of the competition, noting the necessity of regularly holding such events to increase the interest of youth in the national sports heritage.

The artistic segment of the competition left special moments for the athletes and the audience. Elshən Məmmədov, a teacher from the Surakhani branch of the Azerbaijan Alpagut Federation, and his students presented an exemplary performance in the Kaçut system, visually demonstrating the philosophy and technical skills of this system.  Xuraman Şəms, the artistic director of the Baku Children and Youth Creativity Center, and her students added color to the event with their dance performances. The performance of 13-year-old musician Özil İsmayılov created pleasant impressions in the hearts of the event participants.

The high-level organization of the competition was the result of the efforts of the competition director Kutsan Vasif Namazov, Secretary-General Kürşad Rafiq Qasımov, Chair of the Public Relations and Press Department of the World Alpagut Federation Firuzə Cəlilova, Chief Judge Tegin Elsevər Puri, Chair of the Appeals Board Qabil Hüseynov, Technical Director Cəfər Cəfərsoy, Discipline Committee member Ramil Mehdili, Press Secretary Zarina Hüseynova, Coordinator for Parade and Awarding Works Natiq Eminov, and the competition commanders Tegin Kənan Quliyev and Tegin Şahlar Vəliyev, along with the significant contribution of the collective of the Azerbaijan Finance-Economic College.

This event was not just a competition but also aimed to instill the philosophy of Alpagut Turan Martial Arts, national values, and the sports heritage in the youth. We express our gratitude to all the guests who participated in the event and wish the athletes greater success in the future!
