From March 8 to 13, 2024, at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, the delegation of the World Alpagut Federation visited Baghdad, the capital of the Republic of Iraq.
On March 9, 2024, a technical, coaches and judges seminar on Alpagut martial art was held at the Sports Complex of Gilgamish University in Baghdad. The seminar was held by Vasif Namazov, the founder of Alpagut martial arts, and his assistant Rafig Gasimov.
On March 10, 2024, a presentation on the Alpagut sport was held at the Iraqi Olympic Committee. First, Mr. Haitham Abdel Hamid, Secretary General of the Iraqi Olympic Committee welcomed the representatives of the World Alpagut Federation, and then the presentation ceremony began.
The Chairman of the Board of the World Alpagut Federation Vasif Namazov and member of the board Rafiq Gasimov, DAF Vice President Emil Rahimov, Vice President of the Iraqi Alpagut Federation Mohammed Mohi participated in the presentation ceremony and talked about the success of the Alpagut sport in the international arena, future projects and answered questions. Then, participants of the seminar held on March 9, 2024 were presented with certificates of participation.
On March 11-12, 2024, the delegation of the Iraqi Alpagut Federation and the World Alpagut Federation inspected sports complexes that meet international competition standards and decided to hold the Asian Championship in Baghdad in the following years.
On March 13, 2024, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Al Mubarka, received the delegation of the World Alpagut Federation. During the meeting, the organized seminar, the presentation ceremony and the international competition projects to be held in Iraq in the future were discussed. Emil Rahimov, vice president of the World Alpagut Federation, expressed the greetings of the president of the federation, MP Jala Ahmadova and thanked him for the invitation. The Minister of Youth and Sports of Iraq Mr. Ahmed Al Mubarka stated that he always supports the development of the Alpagut sport in Iraq, that the Iraqi Alpagut Federation is one of the most active federations in Iraq and intends to host international competitions in the future, for which he has taken upon himself the solution of all technical problems.
