On April 1-2, 2023, at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex, with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and the National Sports Association of Azerbaijan and official representation of the World Alpagut Federation ended the Azerbaijan Cup on Alpagut martial art.
Among the guests of honor at the official opening ceremony of the competition were Aydin Mammadov – sector manager of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Azerbaijan, Ragif Abbasov- director of the Baku City Youth and Sports Directorate, Kazim Gurbanov – president of the Azerbaijan National Sports Association, Farid Alizadeh- president of the International Turanian Games Committee, members of the World Alpagut Federation board. Emil Rahimov, Farhad Aliyev, the president of WAF – Azerbaijan Representation Gudrat Nuriyev and vice president Nurana Shikhaliyeva, authorized representative of the World Martial Arts Games Committee in Azerbaijan Barat Orujov and officials of federations and sports organizations operating in the country, veterans, and media representatives participated.
In the competition, about 300 athletes from about 40 branches of the republic tested their strength by competing in Aycha, Batur, Jaymaz, Gurshag and Kachut fighting systems of Alpagut martial art.
