A Press Conference was held at the Sports Academy, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the World Alpagut Federation (WAF), and the The Association For International SportforAll (TAFISA).
The event was attended by Mrs. Jalə Əhmədova, the President of the World Alpagut Federation & Member of the Parliament of Azerbaijan Republic, Member of the Board, Farid Alizade, Member of the Board Emil Rahimov, the Sector Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Aydin Mammadov, the President of the Azerbaijan NationalSports Association Kazim Gurbanov, the Representative of the WAF Azerbaijan, Gudrat Nuriyev, and the TAFISA Europe Co-Chair Patrik Peroša and a member of Board TAFISA Marco Tomasini.
During her speech, Mrs. Jala Ahmadova emphasized the great pride of Azerbaijan’s representation in TAFISA. She noted that in the near future, the Federation will achieve even greater accomplishments.
Following her, Aydin Mammadov, highlighted the growing influence of Alpagut martial arts both in Azerbaijan and worldwide, emphasizing its significance for enhancing our country’s global presence.
Farid Alizade mentioned the significant interest shown towards Azerbaijan at the last TAFISA 28th World Conference. He stated, “During the meeting, Azerbaijan and specifically the sport of Alpagut were recognized. Following the event, three meetings were held with TAFISA representatives, including an unofficial meeting. In the coming days, further events related to TAFISA’s future projects took place. 
The organization offered us permanent membership and voting rights. This success is a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s attention and dedication to sports.” The Federation representative also highlighted that the next TAFISA conference will be held in 2027.
Later, Patrick Perosa, the TAFISA Europe Co-chair, took the floor. He mentioned that the organization represents 162 countries and expressed great satisfaction with Azerbaijan joining their ranks. He emphasized that TAFISA is recognized by the UN, UNESCO, and the Olympic Committee, and as the name implies, it invites all of us to friendship and peace.
Lastly, Kutsan Vasif Namazov, the founder of Alpagut martial art, spoke about the great and serious goals for the future of Alpagut sports.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards. It is worth noting that The International Association for Sport for All (TAFISA) was established in 1991.
